Jorge A. Bauer is the CEO and Founder of Finanz Butik. Jorge is responsible for the overall strategy of Finanz Butik as well as overseeing the firm's investment decisions since its inception. Having founded Finanz Butik in 2007, Jorge has grown the company into an alternative investment hub with close to 600 transactional clients, with offices in Miami, FL (HQ), Houston, TX, and Mexico City. 

 

Jorge started his career in the Mexican Ministry of Finance. Transitioning to the private sector, he has since worked for more than 20 years in the banking and finance industry in the US, Mexico, and Latin America more broadly. He has led multiple large banks and finance firms, eventually as their CEO and external council, giving him experience across alternative investments, structured finance, emerging markets, real estate investments, and credit and risk management. Most recently, Jorge served as the CEO of Banco Azteca before founding Finanz Butik. 

 

Jorge holds an MSc in Local Economic Development from The London School of Economics and Political Science, receiving an academic merit reward, graduating with Merit and Distinction. Additional academic studies include courses at Harvard Business School, Universidad Alfonso Décimo el Sabio de Madrid (Spain), The University of Essex (UK), and Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (Mexico). Throughout his career, Jorge has been an active participant in the international academic field of development microfinance, lecturing, publishing journal articles, and participating in academic programs globally.
